Roots: Deep connections, stability, foundation

Tree: Growth, life, nature, and sustainability

Leaf/Sprout: Renewal, fresh start, new beginnings

Our “Roots of Change” initiative instills a sense of growth, connection, and commitment to a sustainable future, fits very well with the overarching goals of the Green Team Challenge.

It offers a blend of personalisation, transparency, engagement, education, and innovation. This initiative not only contributes to environmental sustainability but also enhances the participants' experience, fostering a deeper connection to the cause and promoting a lasting commitment to environmental stewardship.

Each team plants a tree with a unique QR-coded tree tag. When scanned now or hundred years in the future, an interactive webpage displays the company’s name and logo, participant names and profiles alongside botanical information,, planting photos, and date of plantation.

Why Roots of Change?

Tangible & Lasting Impact

The tree planting initiative with QR-coded tags provides a tangible and enduring contribution to environmental conservation. Unlike other activities that may have short-term effects, planting trees offers a lasting positive impact on the environment, contributing to carbon sequestration, biodiversity, and ecosystem health. The use of QR codes makes each tree's story accessible and personal, connecting participants to their contribution over time.

Personalisation & Recognition

This initiative offers a unique way to recognise and celebrate the contributions of both companies and individual participants. By linking the QR code to a webpage with details such as the names of the participants, the company involved, the date of plantation, and photos, it personalises the experience. This recognition not only provides a sense of accomplishment and pride but also encourages ongoing engagement and a deeper connection to the cause.

Engagement & Storytelling

The QR code-linked webpage serves as a platform for storytelling, where participants share their experiences and reflections on the tree planting activity. This narrative aspect deepens the emotional connection to the initiative and encourage others to participate. Additionally, companies are free to use this platform to showcase their commitment to sustainability, enhancing their brand image and corporate reputation.

Education & Awareness

The initiative provides an opportunity for education and raising awareness about the importance of trees and forest ecosystems. Information about the species planted, their ecological benefits, and the broader impact of reforestation efforts are included on the webpage. This educational aspect can inspire participants to adopt more sustainable practices in their daily lives and advocate for environmental conservation.

Alignment with the Challenge’s Goals

The tree planting initiative perfectly aligns with The Big League: Green Team Challenge's goals of promoting sustainability, corporate responsibility, and teamwork. It encourages collaboration as participants work together to plant and care for the trees. The initiative also underscores the challenge's commitment to actionable and impactful environmental efforts, reinforcing the overall message of the event.

Integration & Innovation

The use of QR codes integrates technology into the challenge, making the initiative innovative and engaging. It provides a modern twist to the traditional act of tree planting, making it more interactive and accessible. Participants easily share their experience on social media, broadening the initiative's reach and encouraging a wider audience to get involved.
